A Walk towards Mental Health Almost all the people in the world believe that someone has created
human beings some give name to that super power of nature, some call him god some call it cosmic energy. However, the concept of being created is common in all with an addition; that super power has created us with a free will. When we create reboots we try to implement the system of check and balance lest they start destruction. Can we believe that super power didn’t program supreme human creature with that system? Actually he really programmed us with the system of check and balance adjusted with nervous system. In reality we have an electrochemical nervous system. As the chemicals change, the messages change and our brain’s performance varies accordingly. When we are positive and operating on instinct, our brain, metaphorically, runs on super high-octane chemicals. Our performance excels and you feel at our best. This chemistry is affected by six components we can also call them six fundamentals of mental health. Thoughts Diet Exercise Rest Environment Physiology Thoughts: Our positive and negative thoughts cause your brain to secrete chemicals. These chemicals, in turn, affect all your natural abilities and functions. Our thoughts have two components: facts and emotions. Every stimulus you receive through your nervous system is nothing more than a fact. However, you attach emotions to these facts. It is imperative for you to realize that negative emotions cause adverse chemical secretions and hinder our natural abilities. Increase our awareness of the profound influence negative emotions have on your brain''s chemistry, performance and happiness. Become more objective and restructure any negative emotional attachment you have to certain facts. Facts are merely facts. However, you can choose your emotional response to them. Diet: Everything we eat and drink is a chemical, which affects our performance and how we feel. To observe how a person’s behavior changes when he drink some alcohol. That’s what we need to be a little conscious at. Exercise: In the early days of time, humans engaged in many forms of physical activity just to survive. Our body is designed to function properly with physical exertion so it can remove toxins and secrete beneficial chemicals. Exercise also helps in getting out of depression. For our body and mind to function at their best, it is important to exercise to make up for the lack of physical activity resulting from today’s modern conveniences. Rest: Sufficient rest is necessary for the body to eliminate toxins and rejuvenate itself. We can notice we sleep more when depressed than compare to when we are excited and happy. While we sleep, your brain is busy processing all the information it received during the day so that it can make spontaneous decisions when we are awake. Environment: When we refer to environment, we are not just talking about the air we breathe and our physical surroundings. We are more concerned with the people around us. The electromagnetic fields they generate, as well as their thoughts and actions, can adversely affect us. And good environment means good mental health. Physiology: Our physiology works both ways. Our body reflects our feelings. However, how we carry our body affects our feelings. One of the quickest and easiest ways to improve our chemistry is to change our physiology. By:
