This study reports a series of cases in one sevice of Neurogeriatrics in Porto Alegre.
This calls much atention to the Elder-caregiver relation. Knowing that Brasil is a country were there elderly population is growing progressively, we must keep alert to the health of the older people and those who take
care of them. They diserve attention in the system of public health in:
nursing sectors, psychology and physiotherapy within others.
The
aged dependent patients require more
atention and grater care. This group of patients with Alzheimer, which pathology results in physical and congnitive deficit, become dependent on activities of their daily life.
This way there is a overload on the caregiver, so much fisical as emotional.
We must alert the caregiver that the better informed and apt to due the job that the care demands, better will be the quality of life of the patient and the caregiver.
