Imagine, yourself going out of your home and you find you haven’t taken your cellphone.90% of us would rush back home to take it along. Today you can’t imagine a day without cellphone in your possession.

Since mobiles have become affordable, every strata of the society boasts of the latest cellphone with hundreds of new technological features

But how aware are we of the health hazard that it poses or are there any in reality

Though WHO poses as the best people around to comment on this, nothing conclusive seems to have been submitted by them. All they suggest is shorter duration of calls and use of hands free feature for safety

Scientific research has shown that the blood brain barrier, a safety barrier that blocks bad element of bloods from entering the brain, is at risk if mobile usage increases. The cells shrink gradually after prolonged usage which eventually increases gaps between cells allowing molecules to pass through

Alzheimer disease which were unheard of earlier are more likely to be prominent as a side effect of cellphone radiations

Leukemia cells multiply faster when exposed to mobile frequency radiation causing cancerous cells to spread faster.

But the power output of a mobile is typically below 1 watt which is as per circulars from regulatory bodies. It is debatable whether the very small amount of power emitted is really a matter of concern or not.

However it is a fact that authoritatively nobody has put forward hardcore substantial proof to support the cons of this technology

Studies on occupational risk of people involved in telecom industry who are exposed to radiation for a longer time than the general population do not strengthen the claims of risk of cancer.

People have become more aware of the health risks involved and there are bodies that don’t support putting up new base station or towers by the mobile operators.

However the claims of health risk due to cellphones aren’t strong as the risk imposed by cigarette smoking. This in spite of the large funds pumped for research on the same.

But still if you are facing a situation as proposed in the first line of this excerpt, would you rethink on whether you should really rush back. I really doubt you would rethink. You would rather rush back
