Slouching while sitting on the sofa or bending forward while walking is harmful to our body. Although it is believed
a very comfortable way to sit, stand or walk, these postures do not bring out your personality and can also have harmful effects on your body. Like, if you keep sitting, while legs crossed for long, it stops blood circulation to your legs. If you slouch, it puts pressure on your stomach, giving you backaches and becoming source of various backbone and neck problems. Your wrong posture can have a long lasting impact on your knees. Wrong position puts unnecessary pressure on your knees and have giving them extra weight. If you want a healthy body, then stand up tall, with your shoulders straight and your head held high.
Coming to toothbrushes, most of us wait until most of the bristles have either fallen of, or are in such bad shape that we would be embarrassed to pull out our brush in public. Replace your toothbrush often. Damaged bristles can harm the enamel and do not massage your gums well. Now as soon as you make a plan to eat out, the lists of names that pop up in your head are of the multinational chains. They sure have made their names attractive for you by adding a gift. But you should eat this type of food once in a while but definitely it should not be a part of your daily diet. These foods are rich in fat as most of them are deep fried. This also goes for restaurants which serve our local food. The foods rich in oils and fats might not show there effects right now but as you grow older, not only will they add to weight gain, but also other health issues.
Then most of you run of to school in a hurry, just taking a sandwich or a glass of milk. Never, ever skip breakfast. Remember, when you wake up in the morning it has been around ten to twelve hours since your last meal. Your body needs food now, more than at any other time. Eat a heavy breakfast. You will then be busy through the day, and the calories will get burned quickly. Here are some more common health mistakes we make. Be informed and making a few changes can help make us feel a whole lot better.
Till the age of 15 or 16, where you are still soft and tender, make sure that you sleep on a firm mattress. Although a mattress on springs is soft and lovely to sink in to, it is harmful for your back. You may not feel it right now but later on when you grow up. Make sure that you do not sleep on a too soft or hard bed. Your neck and your back will thank you. If you spend hours on a sofa, get a firm yet comfortable one. Sofas that you completely sink into are not the best of ideas. Make sure you do not sleep onto too many pillows. Have pity on your neck. Sleep with one (not too thick) pillow. A too hard or a too soft pillow is bad for neck. Get a thin pillow if you sleep on your stomach and a little thicker if you sleep on your back, giving your neck adequate support.
As all of us know, we should exercise, but many of us do not. This is a health mistake that we consciously make. Try taking up sports, take an active part in sports at your schools or even playing at your neighborhood. Do not sit in front of television for too long. Do swimming in summers as it is the best exercise. You do not need to train for a marathon to be in top shape. By just spending a little time in physical activity everyday, you will definitely make a difference. If you have not had a physical activity for a week you are making a mistake.
