"What we are today is the result of our thoughts of yesterday and our thoughts today depend our life of tomorrow: our mind builds our lives.
Your worst enemy can not hurt you as far as your mind. But once mastered, no one will help you as much as your mind. "

1 - Mal-being at work
You all want to live happy, you thrive at work and in your private life.
How to reconcile all your responsibilities in these 3 areas of your life: professional, family and society?
Life can be stressful. You face the different challenges and obstacles, and sometimes it is difficult to lower the pressure when you feel threatened by a difficult situation.
Or, you doubt you, you experience stress. In small doses, stress can be a good thing. It can give you the punch you need.
Motivate you to do your best and focus on the essentials. Stress is what keeps you awake during a presentation at work. Or you to finish your studies instead of watching TV. But when it gets too hard and that demand exceeds your ability to cope. Then the stress becomes a threat to your well-being physically, mentally and emotionally.
The question of evil at work becomes a matter of increasingly hot and timely. Several employees of suicides occurred at Renault, Areva, EDF, etc.. During this year the list has grown. Even doctors work out of their reserve to sound the alarm.
There is a principle of interaction between the 3 aspects of physical, mental and emotional. And if a change is not also on an emotional level, then the balance will not in time. This is probably the reason that stress is increasing especially in the professional sector. This dimension of your being is often overlooked in companies.
2 - What is stress?
First, stress is a normal reaction to adapt to a situation perceived as difficult.
It is a physiological response of your organization that mobilizes resources for an action (by releasing adrenaline).
That is to say that stress causes a global mobilization of your body by increasing:
- Your heart rate,
- Your blood pressure,
- Your breathing rate,
- Your muscle tone.
This action results in 3 possible behaviors described by Professor Henri Laborit.
1. fighting
2. leakage
3. self
Stress is a process of adaptation, physiological and psychological, changes in the environment perceived as a threat.
Stress creates discomfort that forces you to act quickly to restore your balance.
You react to stress as a prehistoric man.
- The level of danger of the situation (focusing on the problem).
- The ability of your own resources to cope (based emotions).
If your resources can cope with then you are facing a challenging and positive stress.
You feel that you have good cards in hand and you control the situation.
For example, just before a sports competition, exam, a presentation.
As if against the mobilization of resources is really superior compared to the situation. And that this disproportionate reaction is common when the consequences can be harmful.
Your body will release this excess energy through different output channels: Forward your immune system is weak.
And if your resources are inadequate (in the evaluation phase) to the dangers then that stress can become a source of anxiety.
To summarize the stress may have 2 faces, a stimulus (positive) and the other can lead to distress (negative).
3 - Why is stress?
You work in a modern society which is changing, everything is growing fast.
The constraints are more mental than physical. We have to constantly adapt to your environment and private. Run continuously, after the subway, bus, shopping, the laundry, take the children. ... With few moments of respite.
You are over-applied on all sides, as an executive, employee, parent, and entrepreneur.
Now you look on the various factors that cause these reactions alerts. These factors have the "soft" name stressor.
Here are some of the stressors most often cited especially in the workplace:
- Uncertainties
- Frustrations (dissatisfaction with work / home)
- Work overload
If you are 3 people in the same stressor. You have 3 different reactions. This proves that the stressors are junction between the individual and his environment. It depends also on the level of stress (psycho-emotional state) in this snapshot
Indeed, in times of stress you lose some of your insight. And you do see more clearly and make good decisions.
The more you earn and stressors of the more difficult it is for your body to recover.
