Being
overweight is really very embarrassing both psychologically and health wise. Various programs, diets, health programs
are being introduced by every Tom, Dick and Harry all over the world.
Overweight people would have taken various diets/supplements to reduce their
weight but in vain. The online and chemist shops are full of products offering guaranteed weight loss.
But have you tried to question yourself why you are overweight? You are overweight because you had eaten wrong food and are still eating wrong food and also you are eating in a wrong pattern. You are overweight because your body is not burning fat tissues. You are fat because your body is burning wrong type of calories.
Now what should be done to remain healthy and try loosing weight or at least control the tendency of being overweight? The answer to weight loss is shifting the types of calories that you eat. Choose a diet that is low in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol, follow these recommendations, as illustrated in the Food Guide Pyramid, which apply to diets consumed over several days and not to single meals or foods.
Use fats and oils sparingly. Eat plenty of grain products, vegetables, and fruits. Choose low fat milk products, lean meats, fish, poultry, beans, and peas to get essential nutrients without substantially increasing calorie and
saturated fat intakes.
Choose a diet moderate in sugars. Choose a diet moderate in salt and sodium. Sodium and salt are found mainly in processed and prepared foods. Some people add salt and salty sauces, such as soy sauce, to their food at the table, but most dietary sodium or salt comes from foods to which salt has already been added during processing or preparation. Fresh fruits and vegetables have very little sodium. Use herbs and spices to flavor food.
If you drink alcoholic beverages, do so in moderation, with meals, and when consumption does not put you or others at risk.
As Charles Pierre Monselet, French author has rightly said, Enchant, stay beautiful and graceful, but do this, eat well. Bring the same consideration to the preparation of your food as you devote to your appearance. Let your dinner be a poem, like your dress.
