Stress is how we react physically and emotionally to any thing which happens
in our lives or let’s say may be an experience.
Sometimes we are okay with one
kind of experience and sometimes we are not. Now this causes repetitive stress
injury (RSI) which is caused due to regular movement of any body part. And
hence stress can be defined as any physical or material abnormality such as tight neck or back pain, tension
headaches etc.
Doctors suggest that working for longer hours in the same position or thinking
for a long time the same issue may cause stress for which the body is not
meant. Software engineers
who are constantly working on their computers
or blue collar workers are more prone to the RSI . Any overload can cause it-
either it may be exertion or too much of excitement.
Prevention is the cure. Because stress is so much engulfed in our lives,
that without stress we believe all the new challenges or opportunities in our
lives have been ruled out and hence people also call stress as spice of life .
It’s most important to break the structural habit.If you have to work on PC
, try to take a 20 min break and then start again. Don’t hunch on the computer
and in the meanwhile try to give a little bit of rest to your wrists by
rotating it clockwise and anticlockwise. When performing these exercises it’s
important to take slow breaths. This will help you to manage stress.
But prevention leads to repetition and so elimination would be the focus.
But this was in physical terms. If the stress is mental. Then medication is the
most important because it allows the body to rejuvenate itself and throw off
the accumulated stress. It helps to normalize high blood pressure, reduce high
cholesterol levels, improve bronchial asthma, provide relief from insomnia .
Healthy mind is healthy body and vice versa.
