Schizophrenia

Book Abstract by: vaasvi

Original Author: vaasvi
Schizoprenia can be related to a person of any age who listens to chaotic voices , having no control
over his/her thoughts. Some patients are reported to be watching shadows in broad daylight. They fear the fear , fight a loosing battle everyday. The patient might feel crazily running after a  destination undefined.
Dreams mingle into reality and the eating demeanor , dressing sense even facial expressions take a back seat. This kind of situation that might be reffered to as imbalance of chemicals inside the brain which might cause severe pain to the patient in the head, during acute situations, the patient wants to end his /her life as the torture that he himself has inflicted upon himself becomes unbearable.
If such a situation arises, the patient should be given sometime to be himself. Constant talking with his own self should not be taken as a scary activity, we all talk within ourselves only that patient is truly audible. Besides medicine that contains sedatives and a counter medicine to curb the side effects , the patient should be taught to meditate. He can be asked to sit quietly for a while. As there is no such thing as madness only abnormal behaviour for temporary time phase, the patient should be taught loving, caring and sharing with his family and friends.
The treatment can carry on for a few years but the optimism of parents and care takers can do wonders. At the end of this disease the patient becomes extra alert yet a lovable person who can speak his mind and views things differently but loves everybody just like many of us.
One must always remember that life is meant to be lead and if some person needs our attention we must become his shoulder to cry on. No one is inferior, no one superior than God. Every prayer has an answer , every medicine defines cure, and every kind word by a doctor may turn the tide in the patient''s favour. When all is lost , there comes a time for new beginning.
