We are all aware of the importance of health and it is a fact that prevention of a disease is cheaper than treatment of that disease. Therefore, it becomes our utmost duty to keep ourselves healthy. In keeping oneself healthy, every body knows that the easiest form of exercise is walking. Health experts say that walking has numerous benefits such as –

1. Walking is free and it adds more health and zest to life.
2. It helps in reducing the risk of heart disease.
3. Offers opportunities for relaxation.
4. Reduces risks of infection and hypertension
5. Increases muscular strength.
6. Aids in maintaining a healthy weight.
7. Improves diabetic condition.
8. Great antidote to stress, anxiety & depression.

Walking helps burn fat, boosts the energy levels and decreases health risks. Walking is an ideal exercise, particularly for the people whose life is sedentary.

Besides Morning Walk and Evening Walk, one can reap the benefits of walking in the corridors of a multi-storey office building floor-wise. For example, in a 5-storey building, one can walk on the fifth floor and then goes down to fourth floor through stairs to walk on that floor. Thus, one floor by one floor coming down through stairs one can reach the ground floor. After relaxing for a while there, one can start this Office Walk in the corridors from ground floor to top floor by climbing stairs for one floor at a time.

Best time to do this type of office walk is just 2 to 2½ hr before lunch-time and 3 to 3½ hr after lunch-time. With this type of office walk one becomes refreshed for rest of the day and productivity, efficiency and effectiveness are also increased

Several people have been benefited with this simple routine. I have also started walking for wellness during office hours for the last two months or so and have been benefited a lot as my belly has started flattening and my glucose level in the blood has also been lowered considerably.
