"There is no ultimate solution to our problems, but the problem itself can
be used as a tool to help prepare the ground for solution." Based on this
understanding, Osho has created a series of "meditative therapies" to
dissolve the stress, repressions and other disturbing emotions that creates
problems while meditating.
The first therapy is "The Mystic Rose "
Mystic Rose - Considering yourself as a seed brought in this world, if you
take proper care of that seed (your own being) with right ground, soil,
water, and surroundings to help grow the seed than the ultimate growth is
symbolized as a Mystique Rose.
The Mystic Rose is a three-week process, three hours per day. During the
first week you laugh "for no reason at all," The second week you cry. The
third week you remain silent, watching and meditating. There should be minimum interaction among the participants; however the collective energy of the group always helps each individual undergoing the therapy. No "therapist" is required, but only a facilitator who has gone through the process and has
been trained in conducting it.
Laughing continuously for seven days three hours every day will bring down
all the layers of dust gathered upon your being of so many births and can
bring about a massive transformation to your being.
The second part is tears. The first part gets rid of whatever keeps you
from laughing. All the inhibitions and repressions and provides a new space
within you. But still there are buried and subdued sadness, despair, anxiety
and so many tears that you kept from coming out, destroying your beauty,
purity, and joy.
We are unhappy and in pain because we have covered our being with layers of
dust of all those negativity, disparity, wounds and scars of the past lives. We will have to reverse our journey from outside to inside to explore within ourselves and see the reality and thus encounter the misery, the suffering and the agony and then silently watch them. But we never do it what saints like Buddha are saying from thousands of years. We find it better to remain outside, engaged, busy.
For 7 straight days allow yourself to cry for no reason - the tears were
always there to come out, but you were preventing them.
Finally the third part is witnessing: The Watcher on the Hills. After the laughter and the tears, there is only a witnessing silence. Witnessing on its own is suppressive. Crying stops when you
witness it, it becomes dormant. This therapy gets rid of the laughter and tears so that there is nothing to suppress in your witnessing. Then the witnessing simply opens a pure sky.
