Man eats dog's heart to prevent rabies
Belief can take a person to any extent is the example of a man in the village Dakra outside Ranchi, the capital of the state Jharkhand. The man is 30 years old Chukna Ganju, who was bitten by a dog. The same dog had bitten seven people of the same locality earlier. Chukna was aware of being affected by rabies, and he thought of getting himself free from rabies by an act that he believed. He fought with the dog – got bitten several times during the struggle – finally killed the animal by pitching it on stone. After killing the dog, he took a pair of scissors and tore open the dead dog. Then he removed the heart of the dog that he ate raw to support his belief. He also told the local media that no medical help is required for him, as he treated himself by eating the raw heart of the dog.
The incident happened just yesterday (27 Feb). Chukna works as a laborer.
