Complementary medicine is
nothing but a name given to alternative medicine. It takes into account the
person’s environment, lifestyle, diet, his mental as well as physical health
along with the physical symptoms. Diagnosis helps on identifying the root cause
of the problem so accordingly treatment can be done.



The five main complementary
therapies are acupuncture,
osteopathy,
chiropractic,
homeopathy
and herbal
medicine. There are other therapies also such as aromatherapy,
massage. Complementary therapies are now becomingly increasingly popular as `it
helps you to reach your inner soul. It is used for a number of ailments such as
acupuncture for the pain, also for chronic diseases such as arthritis.
Homeopathy is becoming very popular. Though it works slowly but then it works
effectively. They are very safe and gentle. The most important thing is that
they don’t have any side effects. Nowadays , it is being increasingly used with
convectional medicines also.



The
treatment for this goes on step by step, because it varies from person to
person. There are so many therapies available that it becomes difficult to
choose which therapy suits you better. This is a prolonged procedure. The best
thing is to first approach your GP who can guide you after examining your
physical symptoms. The number of treatments needed varies according to the type
of therapy, the condition being treated and the person's general state of
health. Prices also vary accordingly to the treatment, GP, his expertise and
the no. of sessions.



There
are something known as Energetic therapies work with the flow of vital energy
in the body to facilitate healing and restore health. They're based on the
principle that subtle energies play a part in disease and that a balanced flow
of vital energy is necessary for health.
