Voice is an integral part of our personality. The pitch, tone, rhythm and the way we speak all are very much important. Along with words, emotions are also expressed. Whenever we are angry, sad or apologetic, our voice changes. All the extreme situations like frustration, anxiety etc. are reflected in our voice. Sometimes the voice of some person may not be proper or suitable for the situation. They are not able to change the tone of their voice according to the situation. In some cases, the voice may be lost partially or fully due to either accident or disease. The vocal chords may be impaired which results in the voice distortion. All these problems can be corrected through Voice therapy. The voice therapist helps the patient to release the emotions and feelings that may have hindered the voice to come out normally. The therapist listens carefully the patient's sound or song and analyses it to find out the feelings behind it. Then the hindering physical factor is removed carefully. The patient is made to breath freely and easily. Massaging of the muscles in the patient's back and correcting the posture of spine are also important. Training is given by imagining some situations of various moods and encouraging to speak accordingly. Thus voice therapy helps the patients to speak with a beneficial and effective voice.
