    healthier than the meals sold at your school cafetaria. What about food and drink containers? plastic is good choice. It's durable and light. Just be careful when choosing the right plastic Container for your food and drink. Here the lowdown on plastic.
  • Pay attetion to a number (1-7) inprintedon the bottom of the plastic. The number is inside a recyling rectangle/ Choose number 2, 4, or 5. They are quite safe as reusable containers.

  • don't use mineral bottle containers (number 1)

  • Use plastic containers for dry,room temperature food only. A plastic container has a greater chance than other types of container to release its toxic molecules - into hot and liquid meal.

  • Avoid putting acidic food (meat, dairy product, coffee, tea, fat/oil, bread, instant food, etc.) in plastic containers. The acidic food reacts with the chemicals in the plastic ware.

  • Hand wash reusable plastic containers gently. Harsh scrubbing scratches them, making the cuts perfect breeding grounds for bacteria.
