I know just how addicted you are into
keeping your skin at its best so here''''s a little information to keep
it the way it is and better.
The skin is made up of collagen,
fibers that act as supportive scaffolding, and of elastin, fibers
that stretch and provide the elastic properties to the skin. When the
skin gets overexposed to the sun, the collagen and the elastin get
damaged. The collagen''''s supportive property to the skin weakens and
the elastin fibers thicken, multiply and lost its resilience. Just
think of an overused sponge where it gets depressions everywhere and
from its usual square shape, it gets irregular in form. The same
thing happens to the skin when the collagen and the elastin get
damaged.
According to researchers, the skin
that is least exposed to the sun looks smoothest than those parts of
the skin that are often bared in the sun. This could be the reason
why people who are often under the sun age faster and have the
greatest wrinkles.
