Kissing on the Cheek Banned in France!

Website Review by: SM THOMPSON

Because of the outbreak of Swine Flu world wide according to the BBC Radio 2 Newsteam France has banned the traditional Gallic
peck on the cheek .... so now its /no kissing/at schools or universities..
The BBC Reporter said that she was in Paris and the alarm is due to the fact that should French People continue to /kiss/their usual way of greeting they are in danger of catching swine flu as the dangerous disease is passed from person to person and could be caught by kissing!
Yet, the odd business is surely that in this country we dont have the French Custom of kissing on the cheek and people have caught Swine Flu and died from it ... so I suppose it could just be contact that passes the swine flu disease  from one person to another!   I wondered that perhaps a way of not catching Swine Flu was to wear a woolley and wrap up well, but it was so hot I had to abandon that notion and expose myself to the sunshine! Still, I shall have to avoid the French custom a usual greeting of the peck on the cheek!  Its something I picked up in France and I have exchanged greetings with one of my colleagues but then I havent caught Swine Flu . a bit of luck, I guess! The traditional Handshake of Peace ... has been banned here due to Swine Flu and so has the chalice of wine as its another contact activity!
Hard work!
