Cryopreservation of Stem Cells

During pregnancy is inevitable not thinking on this subject, all parents want to do the best for their children, because the Cryopreservation of stem cells can heal leukaemias, lymphomas, medullary diseases, metabolic diseases, immunodeficiency and haematologic malignancies.
However in world where we live, the marketing power is very big. Many parents spend to much money on a  biologic secure , which probably will never be used to save the life, which was fed by the umbilical cord. The use of this blood still depends of the commercial viability of the company in the long term, diverting so these fathers of genuine humanitarian donation, which gives the right to life of the remaining patients needing an allogeneic transplant, and benefit of the cells banks around the world.
The creation of private banks has simply created an inequality  between citizens:
1st  - The cells are only available for those families that can support its cost;
2nd - If someone require an allogeneic transplant, can always benefit of the public bank. This is from those who had  donated the cells from the umbilical cord or were voluntary donors.
The public bank of cord blood, does the harvest and freezing without charge for donors and these cells will make accessible immediately, for who really is ill and needs. The right to better treatments and life is a reality without monetary value.

A study of the magazine scientific Biology of Bone and Marrow Transplantation, indicates that the need for a person up to 70 years to need a transplant with its criopreservaded stem cells is 0.25%, while a patient with the same age in need of a transplant with cells donated by others is 0.5%. This means that with donated cells can save the twice patients. Numbers for what? It is a civic duty of mothers, and of society the right to life, unless there is a member in the family with a current or potential needing to undergo a transplant.
Don''t forget that the umbilicus is not only to tickling! You and your child can also be donors contributing to save many lives and make many others smile again.
