Doctor, 12 years ago I left a hernia operation. Then eight months ago right hernia surgery. But in the fourth day there was a bump like a hernia on the left. Would if had surgery, hernia could still arise again?
Answer
Hernia on the right that the new surgery eight months ago may recidif or relapsed again when it is in the process of wound healing disorders occur. For example insufficient recovery time, but someone picked up the heavy stuff so torn happen again.
However, hernia operation does have risks recidif (recurrence) of approximately 10-15 percent (on a hernia operation without using a mesh-graft) and about 2-5 percent (in hernia surgery using mesh-graft).
Mesh-graft is a synthetic material that does not cause rejection reactions and assembled to close the hernia defect, so growing body of strong network is created.
