The news was announced this morning on BBC Radio 3 of the sad death of Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees a Pop Band who sold millions to their fans and he passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
There is a tribute online from former Prime Minister Tony Blair about Robin Gibb and apparently
Robin Gibb RIP of the Bee Gees was a loyal supporter of the Labour Party so this is obviously why
Mr Blair is involved in voicing Robin Gibb's obituary. Equally Robin Gibb was a friend of Mr Blair's!
His death follows fast onto the death of Donna Summer Disco Queen of the US and she was about the
same age as Robin Gibb.
This death of Robin Gibb provokes reminders of my College Years when the Disco Music was at its
height and I arrived to the College to be greeted by the sounds of the 7Os and 8Os which were
predominantly Disco Music.
Personally the Bee Gees were a great favourite of my friends and fellow graduates so it is interesting
to ponder upon our recent College Reunions when we played this popular Disco Music of that period
and that decade and enjoyed the nostalgia of the past as it brought back memories of the
relaxation of music as well as the hard grind of work!
The passing of Robin Gibb at 62 is also associated with the death of his brothers who had lost out
to bad health as well as Robin Gibb but I believe there is One brother still staying alive of the
original Bee Gees Pop Group forcing us to take cognisance of the legendary nature of this
