Eat More, More Often and Still Lose Weight! It may sound completely crazy that you can eat more, more often and still lose
weight, but it''s totally true and I''m the living proof. I''ve lost over 20 lbs doing exactly this and it was easy! I''ve tried all sorts of crazy diets (low-carb, high-carb, grapefruit, high protein, etc.) without any permanent success, many times gaining back all the weight and then some! Being fit and healthy doesn''t have to be about eating less and exercising endlessly or excessively.
You must be wondering, how does this work? It''s really easy, it starts of with five W-Factors: why, when, who, what and where. I like to refer to them as my 5 Winning Factors for health and
fitness for life. Every time I feel like eating, I quickly run through the 5 Winning Factors to consciously be aware of why I want to eat in the first place. It only takes a few seconds to realize the true reason why I want to eat.
For Example: It''s 10:30 pm between TV commercials breaks, I feel like eating a snack and the leftover from dinner sounds like a great choice. Before I head for the fridge and take out the leftover, I stop and think about the 5 Winning Factors.
The 1st Winning Factor is the WHY Factor: Understanding why I eat has been critical in recognizing that I eat even when I''m not even hungry. I''ve discovered that I tend to eat during commercial breaks, especially if there was a commercial about food! Whenever I''m anxious, I reach for something to eat. At times, out of boredom, I find myself reaching for food. I realized that I just wanted to eat for the sake of eating and not because I was hungry! The Why-Factor makes me think before I eat, I stop and I ask myself: Am I really hungry? Am I bored? Am I lonely? Was I influenced by the food commercial on TV? Am I feeling down? Am I celebrating with food? Understanding why you eat will help you to control overeating, because you will start to eat for the right reason, and that''s when you are hungry!
Believe it or not snacking is not a bad word! It''s important to eat many healthy snacks through out the day. Snacking on fruits and nuts is a great way to get nutrients as well as to satisfy your hunger. Eating snacks through out the day, gives your metabolism a boost to keep working all day long, also it prevents your body from going into starvation mode. Starvation mode usually leads to you overeating at the next meal. You''ll be glad to know that I do eat junk food and am very proud of it! Each evening I treat myself to a small piece of dark chocolate, cake or pastry. I think it''s important to have a special treat each day, I don''t overindulge in junk food, but I don''t deprive myself either! It''s all a matter of having the right balance.
