Everyone has a favourite Kebab House in the UK and mine is at the University but I do tend to cut out everything including
kebabs and fortunately just before the statistics were blogged to me this morning ... by ITN ... the
shocking facts .. and I am a kebab eater ... are enough to make you rush to the mat to do your drama exercises. ... or take that author's walk daily!
The Researhers found that the Post pub Kebabs equal 1,000
calories, and this is equivalent to drinking one and a half wine glasses of cooking oil. The doner kebab contains 140g fat and 60 per cent of kebabs are high in cholesterol which means if you enjoy kebabs you could wreck your health if you dont calorie count religiously.
Another fact that the researchers turned up with .. 6 kebabs contained pork - 2 kebabs contained halal (which Muslims are allowed to eat!).
But the facts remains shocking .. as follows:
In the North West of England ... kebabs equal 1,101 calories
Scotland " " 1,084
Wales " " 1,055
Northern Ireland " " 843
So we had better watch our eating habits and say, have a kebab on your birthday or special occasion then one wont worry too much about the calorie counting. Sounds familiar but I got a warning from my Diet Group similar to this one on kebabs UK .. that Cappacino coffee for a very large mug ... might contain upwards on 1,000 calories ... so I reduced everything to Italian expresso which has a low calorie count and would measure up as two small teaspoonfuls of coffee at the weekend as a treat! Nice work ... take care of your health .
