The main determinant of infant and child mortality is infection desease, such as respiratory tract infection and diarrhea. To prevent infection, we must taking a good care for children, including give exclusive breastfeeding. But there are many resistance of program, especially for working mother.
The aim of this research was to know about application of quantitative modelling for analysis the factor of exclusive breastfeeding on working mother in Jenderal Soedirman University Purwokerto- Indonesia. The method of this research is cross sectional study. Research population is all women lecture staff and academic staff who work in Jenderal Soedirman University. Sample is all women lecture staff and academic staff who work in Jenderal Soedirman University and have children underfive 5 – 24 month. From the result of univariat analysis show that percentase of exclusive breastfeeding is 21%. The majority of mother have knowledge about breastfeeding is midlle, attitude about breastfeeding is midlle, mother get family support, leader and policy support, mother have high education level, expose formula milk promotion. Mean of mother age is 31 year with have children 1 until 2. Bivariat analysis with simple logistic regression showed that factors related with practice given exclusive breastfeeding are mother attitude about given exclusive breastfeeding and policy in the working place. Quantitative modeling with multivariate logistic regression showed that dominant factors for practice given exclusive breastfeeding on working mother in Jenderal Soedirman University are mother attitude about given exclusive breastfeeding, policy in the working place, and instrument in working place. There is a need to make an effort on: increasing the knowledge and motivation of working mother on the importance of the exclusive breastfeeding, facility in working place which support to given exclusive breastfeeding like children place and the policy about work time for mother who breast.
