Foods That Named Tempe

Tempe derived from fermented soybeans or other materials (in some areas in Indonesia, tempe is sometimes made using waste product from tofu, peanuts, nuts or other, but Tempe is derived from soybeans is more popular) using mould that named Rhizopus better known as the Tempe yeast. Tempe becoming known in Indonesia, especially the island of Java, Indonesia and even become the world's largest soybean producer.
Food of the village, so words that appear when we call the "Tempe", but it formerly, now Tempe already known not only in Indonesia but also in foreign countries, such as: Japan, Germany, and the USA. In These countries have started to do research for the development of superior types of Tempe yeast, this could threaten the existence of Tempe as food public property when it registered its patent rights, which require a license from the patent holder to use this Tempe yeast.
Some studies show the nutrients contained in Tempe is more easily digested than those in soybeans, because in the process of fermentation, Tempe yeast produces digestive enzymes, in addition to increased levels of nutrients from soybeans and the addition of other important substances that are useful for body. Here is a vital substance for the body which is in Tempe.

1. Vitamin
Tempe contains complete vitamins, including vitamin B complex, vitamin A, D, E and K, in addition to pantothenic acid, niacin, biotin, and folic acid.
2. Mineral
Tempe contain a sufficient amount of minerals including: calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, and zinc, in addition Tempe yeast also produce phytase enzyme describing phytic acid into phosphorus and inositol.
3. Fatty acid
During the fermentation process, an increase of unsaturated fatty acid compound, which can be beneficial to lower cholesterol.
4. Antioxidants
In addition to the above substances, in Tempe have isoflavones which can counteract free radicals, in addition to isoflavones also have antioxidant factor II, which has stronger antioxidant properties than the isoflavones in soybeans. By presence of this antioxidant then Tempe can be useful to prevent aging, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, cancer, etc.

In addition, Tempe also contains anti-bacterial causes of diarrhea, lowering blood cholesterol, preventing heart disease, and hypertension.
Research conducted at the University of North Carolina, United States finding that genestein and phytoestrogens found in soybean was able to prevent prostate and breast cancer.
With an abundant source of nutrition and health benefits that many should we begin to diligently consume Tempe, and no longer consider Tempe as a lowly food.
