The last couple of decades has shown a tremendous interest and research in
osteoporosis, a condition defined as reduction
of bone mass per unit mass. I feel its high time we need to answer the question, Is
Osteoporosis a Real threat to our female and geriatric population or is this a market governed drive aimed at making a benign
physiological process into a nefarious dreaded disease process. Osteoporosis is as old as human population. If it was to account for a high morbidity in the society, we would have a morbid exsistence. I strongly feel that osteoporosis is not as malignant as it has been made to appear. Every back pain, leg pain or fracture is now attributed to osteoporosis. Osteporosis is not a disease instead a physiological process induced by age. As soon as your hair turn grey, your eye lens becomes muddy, you start to loose bone a little more quickly than your younger counterparts.
