Hari Puttar-a Comedy of Terrors

Movie Review by: winddancer

Hari Prasad Dhoonda played by Zain Khan is a 10 year old poor little rich boy left alone in his home when
his extended family goes off for a vacation, that much is similar to the runaway hit of 1990 Home Alone but than the indianisation of the plot takes over.
Our young hero is not exactly alone but has his cousin Tuk Tuk played by Swini and the purpose of two mentally challenged characters Vijay Raaz and Saurabh Shukla is to try and get  a microchip containing vital information left behind in a supposedly empty house by Hari's father, perhaps he thought it will be more safer than carrying a tiny chip with him.
After that the producer duo left everyone floundering  trying to swim through a maze of gags the purpose of these being humorous though the humor is lost in abuses thankfully beeped out and obvious low standard fart jokes.
In the end everyone feels that they are being ill-used and gave up trying to even act normally.
How can a 1990 success could be repeated in 2008 is a point to ponder upon. Jackie and Sarika are in the movie, that's all.
The controversy with the Warner Brothers backfired over the name of the movie. Please Our Indian humor and our Indian kids deserve better treatment than this.
