Normally, this space is reserved for information such as the stars, director and such. Not so with this film because although
this is a trailer, I can't find word one about anything else related to this film. Now that I think about it, that's probably a good thing.
Remake of Don't Look in the Basement? Thankfully no, but don't worry, you can expect to see that pop-up in 2011.
I like independent and lower-budget horror films. Once in a while, they tend to be better then their competitors. Not so with this one. The budget is apparently so low, they can't afford semi-proper sound equipment, decent actresses or an original premise! The "villain" is terribly unoriginal along with the story behind it. "On Halloween night, a group of college kids break into an
abandoned insane asylum where decades earlier several horrible murders occurred. One by one they run into SMILEY, the asylum’s remaining resident. "
Question! If the asylum is abandoned, why is there working electricity? Which begs the question, why are they carrying flashlights? And why does the pool scene look like the opening to a Cinemax porn? Maybe that's just me.
The trailer doesn't divulge much of the plot, because, well there isn't much a plot to begin with. It's filled with off-axis shots of a dirty staircase/hallway/basement/random room, strobe lights and fake blood splatter.
Needless to say, I think we'll be seeing this one on a dusty shelf at Blockbuster fairly soon.
