Audience would expect a western touch to the movie, yet it turns out to be kind of desi. The protaganist, Sidhu(Akshay Kumar) is a hapless dreamer, who wishes to bid farewell to his downtrodden, sullen life. His life takes a huge turn when two strangers from China claim that he is an incarnation of a war hero and take him away as their saviour to protect their village from the ruffian Hojo. Though it is a huge leap ahead from the monotonous life of the worker in a food stall,little does Sidhu know about who the gravity of the situation. Chopstick( Ranvir Shorey), the translator, adds to his mirage of a colourful life.
Building castles in the air, Sidhu goes ahead to chase his dreams. On the way, he meets Sakhi( the very beautiful Deepika Padukone) and is smitten by her charms. She is on a visit to China to pay homage to her dead father and twin.
Only time shatters Sidhu's dreams in his encounter with Hojo. Hojo thrashes him and unveils the simpleton in the skin of a king to the country.
How does Sidhu cope with the situation? The movie is just out and one who has watched the movie would tell you that the scene in which the hero uses an umbrella to fly across Shanghai alone is worth a ticket .
