Two guys in search
of a forgotten field of marijuana plants take a couple of friends, among them Whitney (Amanda Righetti), Mike (Nick Mennell) and Amanda (America Olivio), on a hiking trip into the woods near (once again) abandoned Camp Crystal Lake (yes, the one from the original 1980 film), the site where a well-known psychopathic killer is rumored to reside. They are never heard of again.
Six weeks later, Trent (Travis Van Winkle) invites his friends and fellow students Jenna (Danielle Panabaker), Chelsea (Willa Ford), Bree (Julianna Guill), Chewie (Aaron Yoo), Lawrence (Arlen Escarpta), and Nolan (Ryan Hansen) to his father's luxurious house on the shore of Crystal Lake for a weekend full of sex, booze, drugs - and water sports. However, their weekend of fun, fun, fun turns into a terrible nightmare shortly after the arrival of lone traveler Clay (Jared Padalecki), who is looking for Whitney, his still missing sister. A police search has turned up no results- the local sheriff thinks that the girl ran of with her boyfriend -, but Clay thinks that something terrible must have happened to her because she did not attend their mother´s funeral. So he is now conducting a search of his own, although he has been warned by a local old lady not to go into those woods.. It is a waste of time anyway, she tells him, because anyone missing in these parts is surely dead. One of the students, Jenna, decides to join Clay in his search for his sister, and off they go into the woods. They come across the abandoned Camp Crystal Lake and search the dilapidated camp house and surrounding grounds for any signs of the missing sister. It is just a matter of time till they find themselves face to hockey-mask (the famous one he first wore in Part 3) with evil incarnate, the resurrected Jason Vorhees (Derek Mears).
