MOTTO OF THE FILM EARTH
The film “Earth” is made to show us the main climatic, environmental and physical changes
of our planet. Those
changes have a very strong influence on the planet’s
wildlife. We can see the examples of it by watching the animal struggle for survival. First of them are the polar bear troubles connected with the ice melting and hunting. And also the humpback whale which must look for its food - krill as far as the Antarctica is. The reason of it is very simple – the greenhouse effect. But the narrator does not say it clearly, we are able only to see the pain and effort of this innocent animal, which cannot do nothing to turn this negative changes back. This may work to change our minds and provide us to think “Maybe it’s not too late, I can do something to save my planet”. Maybe we do not feel the changes as strong as the wildlife feels, but in next few years these are exactly we, who’ll feel it the most.
It is not the only one message or motto of this film. By watching “Earth” we can also see the wildlife’s brutallity. The hunting scenes are great example of violence in the animal world. In every place of the world from the North Pole and Syberian steps, where the wolfes are killing young and weak reindeers, through the savannah and equatorial forests, where lions are able to kill an adult elephant, all the way to the Antarctic territories, a place of giant whale sharks existence.
In my opinion, this film is also a great directorial work with many amazing and very difficult to record scenes. Creating this movie demanded a very big patience; for example waiting hours for the animal to catch just a short scene. The message is clearly visible and really it does have an influence on your mind.
