The Godfather 2

Movie Review by: DesolationRow

The Godfather 2 was a masterpiece then and is a classic today.  The film depicted on the Mafia Family of the Corleones which
Mario Puzo wrote in his book The Godfather. The movie delved on the life of young Vito Corleone, and Director Francis Ford Coppola did a masterwork in bringing the movie back in time with black and white superb cinematography. De Niro played the young Vito Corleone, and was just incredible in his superb acting.  It was truly like watching the clock turning back its time, perfect timing of flashbacks. The nostalgia part of the movie depicted how the young Vito gained respect and power and eventually became a Don.  Al Pacino likewise performed his intense style of acting as the youngest son of Don Vito, Michael Corleone, who rose after the demise of Don Vito Corleone.  Pacino's acting was as believable as De Niro. The  movie perfectly illustrated how Michael expanded his power and wealth and finally, extracting punishments and revenge on other Mafia Families, individuals and even to his own kin . While watching the movie, one gets to feel the Corleone Family as one's own family.  Director Copolla manages to switch back memories smoothly with the present day occurrence of the movie. Casting was superb, supporting actors and actresses were in rythmn and one is captivated through-out  the entire film.
