Directed by Robert Clouse in 1973; the best action/kungfu movie of all times. This film gave Hollywood a new dimension for
action, i.e.,
martial arts. Thanks to the legend, Bruce Lee, at his best and at the peak of his film career. The film made Bruce Lee a world favorite. There are many myths about Bruce, one of which I know is that he is so fast that no body can kill him with a gun.
In the film, Lee, a martial artist and an undercover spy is invited by a druglord (Han) on his island, who once learned kungfu at Shaolin and is now using his skills for criminal activities. Best martial artists are invited from all over the world to fight. Bruce was assigned to find evidence of criminal activities going on in the island where he finds thousands of men and women locked in an underground prison and uncovers the drug trade of Han. Bruce and his friend outplay the fighters of the crime lord and kills him. An action packed kungfu thriller with Bruce at his best.
The fighting scene in the glassroom was something new and very advance of its time. Where it was nearly impossible to find the enemy because of his multiple images and you cannot differentiate between images and the enemy.
A few of the world famous dialogues from the film are:
"Boards don't hit back."
"It is like a finger pointing away to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss the heavenly glory."
"The enemy has only images and illusions behind which he hides his true motives. Destroy the image and you will break the enemy."
Bruce died mysteriously three weeks before the release of this movie. It is really a tribute to watch this movie.
