Hotel Rwanda tells the story of a man who helped save over one thousand lives in the Rwanda 1994 genocide. A very vivid account
of what goes on in many African
countries while we, the “civilized” nations, refuse to help, limiting ourselves to get “our” civilians out of the country and leaving the country’s people to die
horrible deaths.
Rwanda shares a similar history of violence with many other African countries, and we all know what’s going on, we see it on the news, we feel very sorry for those poor people and then we go on with our lives, it doesn’t bother us… it doesn’t really make a difference. This film conveys that perfectly.
