The film is only losely based on the book which, although disappointing to some die-hard fans of Rennison's books, still
results in an amusing, heart-felt movie.
Georgia Groome doesn't play a very convincing insecure fifteen year old. Although her lack of acting skills is compensated by her co-star's, Aaron Johnson, acting and looks.
The movie is amusing, however if you're not a teenage girl then you're not going to either fully undertand or enjoy the film so you may want to give it a miss.
The romances in the film are entertaining, with the "Ace Gang's" efforts in romance not always being as successful as they hoped.
Although the ending of the film is cute and happy, it's not entirely convincing. If you're a girl between the ages of 12 and 20 you will like this film solely for the looks of Aaron Johnson.
