For Shahid Kapoor ,this could be a new lease of life . At least that's what the trade pundits say after the release of his
new film " Kaminey". Vishal
bharadwaj , the maker of " 0mkara" , has surprised the critics with this amazing creation.Personally Shahid wasn't my favourite and I even ridiculed his pairing with Priyanka Chopra initially. Add to that the fact that he was playing double role, when most of us couldn't stand even a single.But the film just sweeped me off my feet. Seems Shahid has finally learned the art of being selective.The film is based on story of twins,played by Shahid, Guddu,peace loving and working for a NGO,_ the other a small time gambler who wants to make it big. Both hate each other for past reasons.Guddu is in love with Sweety,played by priyanka. Sweety discloses she is pregnant and insists on getting married. Guddu is forced to say yes to her when he comes to know that, she is in fact the sister of local goon leader.Guddu and Sweety are on the run so that they don't fall into their hands.Charlie,the second Shahid is on the run coz he has in his hands crores worth of drugs, which has other contendors too. Both their lives meet eventually A frenzy of goons,cop and others follow which confuses a lot. Frankly speaking, if you wink once ,you could miss a lot. Such is the complexity of the whole plot. Kudos to Bharadwaj for conceiving such a beautiful storyline.Put in a very simple way, this isn't a flick for the dumb. It is suggested if you see the film more than once, you would appreciate it better.The on screen chemistry that Shahid shared with Priyanka was marvellous. Amol Gupte who essayed the role of Priyanka's brother, did a good job considering it is his debutant effort in acting.I simply couldn't recognize anybody else in the films,though going by the performance,they all seem to have been in this profession for long.The score " dhan te nan " which ran in the background is simply fabulous . No wonder why it has been one among the most downloaded songs on the net in the recent past.This is definitely a "must see " and heralds an era of different genre of
bollywood films.
