Julian Schnabel has selected Freida for his next production
“Miral”, which will be filmed entirely in Israel. She will play the role along with
Hiam Abbas, a Palestinian actress, who lives in France. There may be other actresses, but names are not available since casting is not completed yet. The film is based on the book “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” written by Palestinian-Italian writer Rula Jabreal, who also helped finalizing the script for the movie. The theme of the film is to focus on the lives of Israeli and Palestinian women from the early years of state through the early 1990s. The shooting for the film will start next month.
Freida Pinto’s first movie Slumdog Millionaire bagged 8 Oscars this year bringing instant success in film industry world wide. She is only 24 and expected to go a long way to script her name along side yesteryears actresses. Slumdog has done business of approximately US $ 270 million globally.
Among the projects she has been booked, the prominent is Woody Allen’s next project to be carried out next summer in London. Her co-star will be Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins.
