"Taxi." No, it''s not the television show, it''s a cheesy action-comedy starring the unlikely duo of Queen Latifah and Jimmy
Fallon. Fallon somehow thought he could make it big when he left "Saturday Night Live," but he must be having doubts after this flop.
"Taxi," to get right to the point, is not the disaster I was expecting it to be. Fallon, though ridiculously annoying and stupid in this movie, plays off Queen Latifah''s smug and sarcastic black woman routine pretty well. Their chemistry, though completely incompatible, offers up some laughs. The movie also contains a few situational jokes that made me chuckle, though several of those were seen in the previews. Most impressively is that "Taxi" features a group of super sexy super model bank robbers and a very good-looking Jennifer Esposito.
Unfortunately, "Taxi" is still pretty bad. Whether it be a souped-up taxi which takes any believability out of the film from minute one or the ludicrous premise that Jimmy Fallon could have ever become a police officer in the first place, "Taxi" is filled with holes that could have been fixed easily and would have made the film a whole lot more enjoyable.
