Most people could predict it from the previews, but I had to see it just to make sure. I shouldn''t have bothered. "The
Master of Disguise" is a dreadfully boring and stupid comedy from Dana Carvey, a man that was funny once but has done little to show that he has what it takes to carry a film nowadays.
Carvey stars as Pistachio, a young idiot who is forced to learn the ways of his family''s ancestry after his parents are kidnapped. He trains to become a master of disguise, a "wizard" that can change his appearance into just about anyone.
Carvey, like the movie, is not funny at all. There are a few one-liners here and there that made me grunt a laugh, but other than that, this film just sucks. It is probably aimed more at kids than adults, but aside from the PG-rating, it is hard to tell. I would hate to think of the few parents that were dragged along with their children to see this movie; or the children that were dragged along by their parents.
