"Murderball." What an absolutely killer name. Of course, as is stated in the film, calling a sport about quadriplegic wheelchair
rugby players "Murderball" is just not marketable, but hell, it got my attention.
This documentary follows the lives and circumstances of several players on the U.S. Paralympics rugby team, detailing how they cope with their disabilities and how they are able to play a sport that most of us wouldn''t even think of doing or trying. They don''t wear helmets, they aren''t nice, and they smash the crap out of each other to win.
Winner of the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, "Murderball" is an interesting, fun and at times exciting film that blends commentary on physically disabled people with some intense sports action.
