The Oscar-nominated documentary from last year, "Twist of Faith," is finally out on DVD, and while it boasts an intriguing
and relevant story, it unfortunately is a rather disappointing effort.
"Twist of Faith" follows Tony Comes, an Ohio firefighter who finally comes to grips with the fact that he was abused and raped as child by his priest, and that that man, now a school principal, lives just down the street from him. In a moment, his life is turned upside down as the hatred consumes him, causing him to lose his connection with his wife and engaging him in a long legal battle against the Catholic Church, a protective and secretive organization that, by law, has some legal protection against disclosing the truth.
"Twist of Faith" is decent and offers up a story that is becoming more and more common - some priests are raping children, and, perhaps more importantly, the Catholic Church is choosing to hide the truth.
