Supernova is an enjoyable movie, even if the budget holes show.
Supernova
is about a crew on a medical ship who encounter a man who is trying to protect a strange alien entity. The plot is near to nil, but it''s decent enough. Once again (like so many movies I have seen recently), it shows sign of B-grade horror, although this movie is more pure sci-fi than horror. The only thing really going for the movie is the graphics, which are extraordinary. Second, the nudity (supplied mainly by Robin Tunney) will attract the teenage audience.
For the most part, the movie has no big names. James Spader (Stargate), Angela Basset (Star Trek 8?), Lou Diamond Phillips (Courage Under Fire), and Robin Tunney (End of Days) are the people I recognize, but none are really big stars. Actually, that usually makes it better, because it is not clear who is going to die. Of course, in this, the most obvious characters are the ones who survive.
