I am often asked in emails and in television and radio interviews what my personal theory or views are on the Bermuda Triangle.
I think it really behoves me to address those here, plus add a little history.
I do not believe that the Bermuda Triangle is all make-believe or the result of media hype or “pseudo scientific” writers. Nor do I believe that there is some one all-encompassing theory, nor any
supernatural explanation. However, I do not equate natural with conventional as many debunkers do. Believing that there is a natural explanation is not the same as imploring some simplistic, conventional guess. There are certainly unexplained elements in our world. No one in a scientific discipline would say otherwise.
For example, airliners have encountered unexplained forces over the Triangle in the last decade that have jolted the planes severely, causing a number of injuries and forcing the airliners to divert course and land at Bermuda, Miami, or New York. The cause is unknown. But unknown is not supernatural. Was wind shear supernatural before it was
discovered? When a plane flew into the ground around a mountain in perfect weather, was it the mountain gods taking revenge? No. Did we just dismiss it and blame it on “nothing important?” No. Wind shear around mountains was discovered. I can give any number of analogies, but I don’t think they are necessary.
