MANAGEMENT O TALENT IN AN ORGANIZATION
Human resource management is essential for the success of an organization. but now the stress is on talent management. An article in Business World magazine of Apr 07, 08 discusses its various aspects. The new organizations of today, achieve results through a network of mutually interdependent entities, each of whom can operate, based on their own strength. This set up is similar to the honey bee comb colonies. At any point of time, several activities are being done in parallel. Most of these are interrelated, and so these need balancing between them. Therefore, these new organizations give importance to knowledge management and changes in decision making as per the situation, for getting best results. Constant evaluation and up gradation of skills, trust, relationships and networks are emphasized. They use latest information and make fast changes, as per the conditions in the market. With integrated database and quick systems, the right person can get the required and latest information for the right decision. There is both centralization and decentralization at the same time. CEOs are connecting to the people, and also making the persons close to the customers to take the decisions. Companies want to create value by stressing on time and talent, and not cost. There are employees having diversities, but stress is given on attitudes and skills of the individuals. The teams may be cross cultural teams. With better health care the employees can work much longer. The workers with the required technical, functional, networking and partnering skills will influence the decisions. Training will be required for useful interactions. They also have to be provided suitable environment, along with more democratic leadership styles for all round success in the organizations.
