The Gold Coast Sun

Newspaper Review by: KarinaCarrington

Week after week articles on the new editions to the Animal Welfare league state there are more and more animals without homes,
although they are not a government funded organization, I personally feel it should be. The animals that are unable to find a home in a certain length of time are put to sleep. How wrong it is to put down a innocent animal, and deprive it from a life. I dont see Family services putting down children after a certain length of time if they can not find fostercare for the children. Animals are living creatures, and government funding should be available to these organisations to create bigger premises for the ever so growing unwanted animals. If the government had open eyes to see what was going on with these unwanted animals, there funding, if any, would make a dfference and the numbers of the animals being put down would decreased.A law should be brought in when selling an animal private, through pet shops, or any other form should be desexed, and proof of this should be provided to customers purchasing the animals. As for people wanting to breed animals, I feel a certificate should be brought in where the breeders properties are to be inspected and the responsibility of the pups/kittens would be the breeders, and certifcates for the kittens/pups should be provided when selling. If this was a law I personally feel the numbers of unwanted animals would drop dramitically.
