On the News here in Australia the most disturbing information came over the TV the other night.I thought I might view my
opinion in regards to it here on myspace.com.A mother was taken into custody aged 25 after forcing her young daughters to swallow tablets.Two points here after hearing such obscene and utter disturbing current affairs, and that is one; some people just are not meant to be mothers at all, and when I say meant, I mean they do not deserve to have the role.Second point is this 25yr old mother must have been at breaking point. Sure enough after hearing the full story. Child
Welfare here had just visited the household where the girls lived a few hrs prior to the overdosing of tablets. There reports stated everything was fine.There are many cases around Australia that I have heard of that include the non interest of welfare where the children are in danger and they sit back and write paperwork to cover there butts and say these children are doing well.I myself being brought up in different families, with neglect not only on the foster families’ side, but where welfare is concerned. Children have a right to be heard, and who is going to defend them when in danger other than the Child Welfare system? The system needs to pull there heads in and start
protecting the children that need protecting. Too many cases are thrown away days if not hrs prior to the kids endangerment at the hands of an x boyfriend, mother, father etc.Anyone on myspace.com that has the job of protecting the kids of today, here’s a message to you...........If you know you are not doing your job proper, and you have let a child down by not following through on perhaps accusations of child endangerment then please step down your position, or start acting on the facts provided to you, other than doing paperwork in hoping your facts on there are correct and can not bite you in the butt down the track.To be in child welfare you will need the passion of caring about children and there life growing up etc, you will need to face the crappy justice system that sometimes doesn’t rule in favor of the child, and last but not least you need a conscience, a conscience where you can sleep at night knowing you have removed a child from a extreme unstable enviroment and placed the child in a happier home. Just a tip also to you all out there with such a challenging role as a child protector. From experience you need to take the child aside and talk to him/her privatley without parents around, there you will be able to see actions if not words spoken from the child to tell you weather or not he/she is in danger.If I was spoken to on my own by my social worker, I possibly wouldnt be as scarred as I am today.I am speaking for the millions of youngster out there that dont have the choice or the chance to speak out.
