Some churches to be mentioned
All of us feel sometimes like going to his own
church and pray God and it is quite the same in Chicago- the city of diverse cultures and religions. We confess different religions and need to visit our own church from time to time to ask Father Almighty to bless our country, relatives and friends that is why Chicago has all types of churches to come: Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim and many other branches of religion.
The most admirable masterpieces of this sort are those , on my opinion, which are built in a Gothic style. Gothic Architecture is superb and fascinating in its` form. The example of it may be St. Mary of the Angels Catholic church ( constructed according to St. Peter`s Basilica in Rome) and Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago.
If you were there you would have certainly found some more examples to confirm that there are opportunities given to each community no matter to what nationality it belongs.
Fashionable world
It is important to fit in the style of the society in which you evolve or simply to look smart or moreover primped up for any occasion in your life. It is not a problem in the “Windy City” as it has such great department stores as Marshall Field`s and Carson Pirie Scott. Enjoy the offered fashion and
try on a new life of Chicago dressed with taste during your further tour.
The
music born in America
Of course, I am talking of jazz and
blues which make my soul sing and heart dance.
For the first time I listened to blues in Chicago Botanic Garden in the open air last year and still there is a stunning feeling as if the music played there echoes now reminding of the whole scenery at that place with its` big
fountain and delightful
sunset. The impressions that you get are yours for ever and the music will only enhance them more and more.
Chicago`s free trolley system
The first destination we are going to is the down
town area. Crossing the bridges in a shuttle we look aside and notice a great number of avenues with fashion and souvenir stores. To tell the truth Chicago has 43 bridges on the whole but do not be afraid we won`t cross all of them as only 20 of them are located in down town.
We are on the way to Shedd Aquarium to see all marine species that are the representatives of underwater world and collected from everywhere. Sharks, big and small fish, tritons and other herbivorous as well as canivorous creatures. It is worth of visiting anyway because you will see how strange and astonishing the nature of these marine animals is.
Not far from Shedd Aquarium is Adler Planetarium where you can visit Crater-on-the-Moon dining area that offers you a re-creation of the moon`s surface. Except for it you can also view the Earth and Milkyway and some other celestial mysteries.
Then we turn back and move to the Field museum passing waving Chicago River.
The Field Museum contains the richest anthropological, botanical, geological and zoological collections. Starting from the ancient period and finishing with the modern time you reveal more useful even curious historic facts that were never known to you before. Then we come back to Millenium Park that is not far from the Art Institute where we will be soon during our long trip in down town. There all the impressionist pictures` amateurs can be left to themselves and to the imaginary atmosphere brushed on the canvas by professionals. I can give you just one piece of advice- do not try to repeat their masterpieces otherwise your unlucky attempt will disappoint you ( joke – a mere joke)! A little farther the Buckingham Fountain is observed. It is getting dark and we feel asleep a little. It is high time to stop where we are to go on tomorrow again!
