Some said when a girl turned 15 or 16 year-old she is ready to be plucked and eat like mangoes. Otherwise she will not
get any sutiable life partener if she is over aged. Thus in those time especially in mid 30s girls got
married around 16. As more the age goes mean soon she will lose her beauty and grace. She was taught how to cook and clean. It looked like women are married off that is why there was no reasons to educate them. It was not matter if those girls were physically and mentally prepared to married- live their lives with some one much elder than their age with high expectations. Higher
education for girls is just the waste of time and money said by the people in those period.
What a woman will do with higher education any way she needs to cook, clean and look after kids and husband. She cannot escape from her responsibilities. Guy approaches girls who are in their teens as they think these girls are easy to control them.
A woman can get married when she is 18 or 34. It is up to her what she really wanted to do with her life and her parents should treat their daughter with equal respects and love as they do with their sons. Now women are no longer consider as ripen mangoes. They will be not eaten as quickly in afraid of rotten. Let the woman make her own decision.
