"Would Anyone Notice If Canada Disappeared? Part II" This is continuation of my abstract of this article. Unfortunately, there seemed to be not enough space (It's not likeI'm
trying to make some extra 0,0010 - 0,0015 cents, eh?)

Looking at the whole “pre-war situation”,to me Canada’s decision of not going to war was made out of fear, NOTHING but fear! I
remember all those articles, panicky warnings of a possible “9/11”, hitting Toronto or Montreal. Some journalists sounded like the best solution would be if the whole nation… migrated. Moved across the ocean, wherever, just far
away from those “warmongers” Americans!
And then, you saw all those pictures and quotations coming from Muslims, who live in North America, or in different places in the world, "Unlike the US, Canada is a "peace loving country"... And so on. I think, some Americans read Canadian papers, and I doubt they’re going to forget that soon.
Iremember, some ten
years ago, I was talking to someone... I don't really remember his level of education, but he wasn't an idiot, for Christ's sake! When I tried to explain to him Poland's geopolitical situation, being, for more than thousand years, sandwiched between Germany and Russia, he said: "Oh, I know what you mean! It was the same here, when Canada was between Russia and the U.S. Do we need a comment here? Somebody who doesn’t get that right away, will never understand it. Of course, it was just "some guy", but what he said is symptomatic of Canadians, who seem to consider the "Yankees" as competitors rather than allies. And, as long as this general feeling doesn't change, Canada will continue to play a role of an observer and critic. "Sitting around and nagging", rather than trying to
change things.
