Animals improve owners' health
From searches for the water fountain of youth, to drinking a glass of wine a day, people have relentlessly
searched for a miracle to help them live longer. New research indicates that one solution to greater health and happiness can be found by visiting your local
SPCA animal shelter.
Pets provide companionship, and at times can be quite humorous &
amp; entertaining. Not only that but pets make the best listeners. They never talk back, and no matter what you have to say they love you unconditionally. Recent research shows that many pet owners have lower blood pressure, & heart
rates then those that don't have pets.
Another benefit is pet owners
tend to have faster recovery times and higher survival rates. Hospital studies have found that seniors and recently operated on patients responded better to treatment, and got better faster while they were in contact with dogs. In fact many physcologists believe that just petting a dog can be relaxing & therapeutic.
Children can learn a great deal from owning a
Pet. Someone has to take fluffy outside for a walk, or feed snowball. What a great way to give a child a sense of responsability. Many people believe that children who have pets tend to be more self-reliant, more sociable, & less selfish then children without pets.
If you are considering adopting a new best friend, please contact your nearest SPCA animal shelter. Many wonderfull companions are homeless & waiting for someone to love. www.spca.com
