Yet Another Liberal
"Non-answer"
When Conservative Justice Critic Vic Toews rose in the House of Commons
this week to ask the Libera government why convicted murderers and sex offenders are being given weekend
passes to children's amusement parks he was really asking a question all of us must demand be answered.
David Caza, a sex
offender with a long record of crimes against children and who poses a
high risk of re-offending has been convicted of 42 offences, including
sexual and violent attacks against boys as young as nine.
Mr. Caza is an untreated offender who has refused to go through counselling
yet has been released from prison. Why?
Local residents of Merritt, B.C. took matters into their own hands this
week. "Basically our community did what the judicial system wouldn't," said Mayor David Laird after citizens threatened
Caza forcing him to leave Merritt. "Vigilante
justice" cannot be condoned or supported but the frustration level
of Canadians continues to rise because of an inept judicial system that continues to reward
criminals while failing to protect the public.
I really think Canadians are getting sick and tired of "answers" like
that of Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan who in her reply to Mr. Toews said she was asking "the
Standing
Committee on Justice to review both the Corrections and Conditional Release Act and the parole system
to determine whether we have the balance right." Seems only Ms. McLellan and the Liberals cannot see what the
public has seen and known for years. We have a judicial system that continues to hold in higher
esteem the "rights"of criminals than public safety or rights of victims. How long must we endure
them?
