"NEXT ENERGY" International Conference

Newspaper Review by: snowdeer

The conference will be structured as an exhibition / convention, with the main theme being sustainability, analyzed through
relevant themes, such as the use of renewable energy sources, the use of alternative energy sources and the development of new fuels such as hydrogen. Hydrogen is becoming more and more important in China, and is becoming an energy solution that attracts high levels of investment.
At the same time, other 'softer' themes that are still of great interest will be discussed, for example, the recycling of waste materials to create energy. The main aim is to create a political momentum to sustain Sino-Italian cooperation about environmental issues and sustainable development. In anticipation of two important international events — the Olympic Games of 2008 in Beijing and the World Expo in Shanghai in 2010 — this conference is an occasion to sum up the achievements of the past and look forward to new initiatives.
Other activities of the conference include technical workshops with the following aims:
- To showcase Italian companies that want to market their technologies and services in the environmental sector in China, with Chinese governmental experts invited to present their needs in environmental fields.
- To decide where to develop Sino-Italian cooperation in connection with investment plans for environmental technologies.
- To stimulate the exchange of eco-friendly technologies.
- To contrast the Italian and Chinese experiences of cooperative environmental projects that have already begun.
- To provide information to the relevant industries about investment opportunities in the environmental sector in China.
Organizer: Ministry of the Environment and Conservation in collaboration with the Academy of Social Sciences of Beijing and the Fiera Foundation of Milan.
